In my years at AMS I've taught a variety of math courses including 8th grade math, advanced math (7th and 8th grades) and general math, but my current teaching assignments include 8th Grade Advanced Math (Algebra) and 7th Grade Math and 8th Grade Math. My planning period is 2nd period (8:58-9:43) should you need to contact me during the school day. Email would be the most efficient and effective way for parents to communicate with me. email@example.com would be best, as I'm not on the school fusion page every day.
Outside of school activities, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, camping & fishing, golfing and exploring new forms of technology. My daughter is currently teaching HS English at Crawford High School and is looking forward to her upcoming wedding this fall. My son is an engineer for BNSF and lives in Alliance. My husband, Darwin, and I have been married for 30 years and have lived in Alliance for 29 of those years. While I didn't grow up in Alliance, I now consider it my home.
During the year in math I plan to keep lesson plans posted here for your convenience, but keep in mind they are apt to change from time to time due to unexpected schedule changes or to adapt to the students' needs at the time. This year, students will have consumable notetaking guides to use. These will be issued at the beginning of the year and should be brought to class every day. Copies of the notes each day will be available in the classroom as well as online to assist with makeup work in the case of an absence. Should a notetaking guide be lost, replacements will be available at a cost of $12. Also for your convenience, visit the website www.classzone.com to find tutorials, games, additional problems and a copy of our textbook online. You will need a password to get to the textbook, but all other features of the website are accessible without logging in to a user account. Students will be given an account name and password to use for the year.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns throughout the year. I'm looking forward to a fun and successful year of exploring the world of mathematics with you!
